In a continuation of their grave violations and crimes against humanity, the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and its extremist backers from the former regime conducted airstrikes yesterday morning across Darfur, including on populated areas in El Geneina. These strikes deliberately targeted the Nyala Women’s and Obstetrics Hospital and the main gas depot in South Darfur.

Dozens of innocent civilians were killed or injured in the Al-Naseem neighborhood of El Geneina in West Darfur State. The SAF barrel bomb attacks resulted in significant destruction to both residential buildings and public infrastructure.

The Nyala Women's and Obstetrics Hospital and the main gas depot were intentionally destroyed in these treacherous airstrikes. The continued targeting of essential public infrastructure, including the customs police headquarters, by the SAF and its extremist minders from the former regime underscores their heightened hostility against innocent civilians. These actions reflect their growing desperation and frustration amid their ongoing strategic failures on the battlefield.

The SAF, the Islamic Movement’s jihadist battalions, and their allied militias have committed egregious crimes against the people of Sudan during this war and over their more than three decades of rule in our country. Their indiscriminate bombing of public and private property has resulted in heavy casualties and widespread destruction of infrastructure.

History will never forget these atrocities.

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) condemns these war crimes. We remain steadfastly committed to liberating the Sudanese people from the former regime, which so openly adheres to the grotesque ideology of corruption, terrorism, racism, and hate propagated by the Islamic Movement. Our fight will continue until the former regime is dismantled in full, paving the way for a stable, progressive, and prosperous Sudan that fulfills the aspirations of our people.
